Hydro Dipping: Turning The Ordinary Into Something Extraordinary

There are two main categories one using aerosol paint and is more reminiscent of tie-dying while the second type uses printed patterns on a water-soluble Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) film which dissolves in the water leaving behind a liquefied ink which is then applied to the object that is to be dipped and produces more predictable and precise results. This article is a very general overview of the processes and both processes share similar aspects such as the preparation and sealing to make them durable and long-lasting. For the most part, we use hydro dipping to accent and enhance the design characteristics of objects that we create such as tumblers, lamps, light switch plates, and such. As with Kydex there are thousands of pattern options and with options like metallic or candy paint job the design options are nearly limitless so please check out our friend at dipape.com for an example of possible patterns and if you see something you like please contact us and we will create the object of your dreams. We also do different variations of masking and combining patterns to make the end piece even more beautiful and are working on expanding into sublimation tumblers and products.
