Finding Inspiration

Often, as a leader in the niche world of unique and creative creations for niche markets, we are asked where we get our inspiration from. We have found that it really does come from the fact that we simply 'just do it'. For the past two decades, we have built hundreds, if not thousands, of pieces, learning what we like as artisans and what is essentially just continuing a trend or fad that is only in style for a moment. Some artists specialize in a specific genre (metal, wood, ceramic, etc. ), but we like to mix elements from different genres to elevate your purchase from just another one of thousands to the "perfect gift" for your loved one.

Being rooted in the world of custom furniture, occasionally we would get unique orders, but very often it was people seeing something they liked online or at a friend's house and wanting it made for them. This was fun to a certain degree but repetitive. We found that switching our business model to create unique gifts made it more fun because it allowed us to be more creative and create more unique items like a "waterfall river table" which has a running river (with goldfish) and an actual waterfall instead of simply mitered legs so that the top continues to the floor. Or our ocean-inspired tables end tables featuring three-dimensional scenery instead of only doing more classic tops while we still do several pieces that are more classic in nature, we enjoy putting our unique flare onto things.

When we design things we go through a rough process that begins with brainstorming and sketching designs that follow a general category like "birds", "horses", "seductive", "nautical", or such but very often the final product is different than what we originally sketch as it is continually refined through the design and testing process so that it is sure to be up to the finest standard and bring pleasure to the end-user. Or we start with the desired end state in mind and work backwards, for example, a hair washing station for a beauty salon, we know what the desired end-product is and then go about designing it so that it is fully functional, durable, and beautiful as we strongly believe that our business customers select us for our uncanny ability to help them shine in their particular trade or profession. At times, our products are simply a result of seeing a need and producing a creative solution for them which can range from utilitarian to fancy or elegant in design.

In short, our inspiration comes from a variety of sources but are always thoroughly vetted and tested to ensure an outstanding product is produced at a reasonable cost and is sure to "wow" people. All too often people simply focus on the utility aspect of items (i.e. does this bookcase have enough shelves?) but forget about the "wow factor". We believe that not only should your item be fully functional it should leave them feeling like they had a "shopping trip with a happy ending" being that not only did they find the "perfect solution" for their need, but also one that complements the rest of the setting and enhances the mood.
